10 Random Acts of Kindness

Kill em with kindness
Why should we do random acts of kindness, you ask. Because common courtesy is becoming uncommon. Being kind can brighten someone's day, it can cause a ripple effect, it makes the world a kinder place, it reminds people that someone cares, and it makes you a happier person knowing you made someone else happy.

Here are 10 random acts of kindness we can do to contribute to making the world a little better:

  1. Hold the door open for someone
  2. Smile at everyone who passes you
  3. Give a stranger a compliment
  4. Make/buy some food for the homeless or those in need
  5. Send flowers to someone you think deserves it or a random person you pass by on the streets
  6. Write letters to inmates or sick children at the hospital (they might need a friend)
  7. Offer to listen to someone who is having a tough day
  8. Pay for someone's dinner or coffee
  9. Donate clothes/shoes you don't use anymore
  10. Volunteer to pick up trash around your neighborhood or any place that needs cleaning  up

I've only listed 10 random acts of kindness, but there are tons more that you can do. Any little thing can help someone greatly.

  1. I love this and I try to do a random act of kindness daily. I think that smiling at a random stranger may not seem like much but probably makes the biggest impact. There are a lot of people who are depressed or having a very hard time and a simple kind gesture can just make their day. You never know what people are going through and if you can help them in anyway it will make the world a better place. Shared this!

    1. Thanks so much! Very true we never know what someone is going through, the simplest things goes a long way.

  2. Love these. Every once in awhile I focus on these kind random acts, but sometimes I get busy and don't do them as often. I appreciate this reminder and will be sure to play with being kind from today forward.

    1. Thanks! Don't worry, it happens to all of us :)

  3. These are all wonderful ideas. Thank you for sharing. It's amazing how sometimes a little thing can make such a big difference in someone's day.

  4. Thanks! Yes, some people just appreciate a hello or even just a smile. We never know what someone is gong through.

  5. Great suggestions! I try to donate things I don't need to those who do need them on a regular basis. We have a local group who helps out low-income moms and I've donated a lot of my daughter's clothes/toys to them. It feels good to do something for someone else. I also take $25 off each paycheck I get and donate it to something I believe in, like Planned Parenthood or the ACLU.

    1. That's awesome! It does feel good to do something for someone else
